Smita and I by Deepti Naval

Always on the run
Chasing our dreams
We met each time

At baggage claims
VIP lounges
Check- in counters

Stood a while together
Among gaping crowds
Spoke, unspoken words

Yearning to share
Yet afraid, afraid
Of ourselves

All around us
People cheering, leering
And we, like spectacles
Amidst all the madness

Trying to live a moment
Of truth
A glance, a touch
A feeling to hold on to
And move on…

The last time we sat together
Waiting for a flight
I remember I’d said,

‘There must be another way
Of living this life!’

For a long time
You remained silent

Then,

Without blinking
Without turning
Said,

‘There isn’t’

Today
You are gone, and
I’m still running…

Still trying
To prove you wrong

  2. Beautiful. I agree with Smita but wish from the bottom of my heart that you prove both of us wrong.🙂

It has been a blessing to be introduced to this aspect of your persona ma’am.

    Happy blogging!

    • Hi Priyanka,
I didn’t mean to deceive you or anyone else, but I’m the one who maintains this site, not Deepti Naval. I read this poem of hers on her official site http://www.deeptinaval.com/ I’m sure there’s a way you can send a comment to her directly on there.

I, too, have enjoyed seeing a different part of Deepti ji on her website.
